Mexi Fender Reviews
Stratocaster - Sonic Iconic
If you like guitars, you already know it. If you’re new, the Fender Strat is history and mystery. Mastered by some of guitar’s greats, such as Hendrix, Jeff Beck, John Frusciante, John Mayer, the Stratocaster has a floating tremolo to let you wobble around your pitch to your heart’s content. It’s a great guitar for any stage player, but the Mexican version specifically is just a sweet deal. You can pick up a current Player II for $799.99 at https://www.fender.com/products/player-ii-stratocaster as of writing. Go for a classic look like Black or Burst, or try something newer like Aquatone Blue, or Hialeah Yellow.
Telecaster - Sweet Twang
Let’s go even further back in our Delorean, and check out the Telecaster. It’s blocky, but it’s not too heavy. It’s old, but its sound is undeniable. It has a little twang that is distinct, so when you snap a string it just sings right. The Mexican version comes in here: https://www.fender.com/products/player-ii-telecaster?variant=45947064123614, but if you’re wondering what the classic color is for a Tele, it has to be the Butterscotch Blonde. Although, if you ask me the Transparent Cherry is a looker. Some models have different body materials, so make sure to check out, not only your color, but your preferred body.
Lead II - Light and Loud
Not available on the Fender.com site anymore, but the Lead II has been a surprise for me. It’s the lightest of these three guitars by far, but it still has a full length fret board and slim modern c neck. If you’ve never seen it’s double cutaway design, it looks modern but still has its classic 70s style. It’s sound can be clear and warm. If you can pick one up secondhand, it’s an excellent guitar for a modern quiver.
